SIMPLE but SOPHISTICATED
Integration is the most common phrase heard in the industry. The ADD digital audio mixers and ARM matrix controllers have links into the ANTS networked PC-based Java software. In the BBC Prague project for example, this software is used for remote control of shared ISDN codecs.
The software allows journalists and studio engineers to have full control of centrally shared Codecs and full access to a Visual talkback system. Assigning the ISDN codec through the ADD3000 workstation's built-in router control automatically pops up a Codec graphic on the user's PC screen via the station's IT network.
The graphic gives details of the present "owner" (who currently 'controls' the Codec) and full remote control of the Codec functions. Recent additions to the software scripting suite allows Last Number Redial, Call Received ID, Call Made ID and 'traffic light' visual signals showing the Codec status:
| Red | Stop, | Disconnect/off-line |
| Amber | Get Ready | Connected, sorting out comms. protocol and compatibility |
| Green | Go | Audio paths available for use. |
Simple, easy, powerful!
